Here are some before pictures. It may be hard to compare since these are taken a few hours after a wet shave. But at least its a reference for where I was. I posted these in the common room before, but this may be a better spot for them.

Just a quick update on day 4. Per the recommendations, I shaved today with a rotary razor for the first time ever in the shower today, which in my opinion was a pain in the a** compared to my typical gillette fusion pro glide shave. Still convinced there's nothing better than that for a wet shave. Although the rotary shaver does have the plus of being able to dry shave throughout the day for touch ups which is nice. Since my treatment, i have noticed very slight fading/shrinking of the dots but it may just be my imagination/me hoping for it to happen. I'm definitely not noticing any "scabs" that should supposedly be flaking off around this time. If anything, it looks as though my dots are almost being covered by a layer of skin, yet still quite dark. Also, this layer looks fairly healthy and doesn't seem like it will flake anytime soon. I'm assuming this flaking/fading process is necessary in between sessions for the practitioner to assess how my skin will react to the pigment, and be able to effectively tune the next session. What if dots don't fade in between now and my 2nd treatment in 3 days?

I see a lot of people worry about this far too early, so I'll hold tight a few more days and re-assess the dot size/darkness situation then. I'm also hoping/assuming that the increase in density after session 2 will take away from the obviousness of the low density dots. The horseshoe on the back is also still visible, even thought the dots remain pronounced. I'm assuming this is due to the lack of density right now. Mike mentioned he'd probably go a bit darker with added density for my second session.. I have full faith in Mike, but I'd like to see these dots lighten up before blasting my head with more of what i'm hoping to reduce.. Still excited and have full faith in the process, just looking for some opinions. What do you guys think?

Shadow - mine totally held for the first 4 days and I too had no scabs, flaking etc. I didn't bleed in the session either (apart from one single dot) which is why I guess I didn't scab. But I have to day at day 6 that it's faded quite a bit now and I feel prepared for my second session tomorrow morning...

I think we all fade at different rates and in sure your practitioner will take into account how your scalp has reacted to the treatment - I figure that this is why they break it up in to session so they can test the water before giving you the full density etc. I'd give it a couple more days as chances are it'll fade :)

Update day 6 post 1st treatment: minimal shrinking/fading but I can now tell for sure that it is occurring. Treatment 2 is tomorrow. Wondering if I should go in with a clean shave so he can assess fading into a bare scalp or if I should foil shave tonight to allow a bit of growth or just leave it alone and let 1-1/2 days growth by treatment time from foil shaving this morning.. Any thoughts? This is pretty much the range of lengths I'd like the treatment to cover. I'd likely shave after day 2..

Update Day 17 post 2nd session. I've definitely noticed some fading at this point. The shade has gotten past he point where all the dots are bright black and vivid and is transforming to shades of grey. The shade looks extremely natural to me with one day shave, although i do wish it was a little darker and more filled throughout. I definitely can not go more than one day like I used to with the darker dots. I do think the back needs a bit more density as it starts to show through if I go anything over 3/4 days length (I'm about 12 hours post foil shave in the photo's). I'm not sure if it needs density or darker dots, the dots are definitely visible there so I don't presume they've faded any more than the rest. I've also noticed very minor spots throughout that have lightened more than others which I'd like to get evened out. These are not a big deal and I could probably get away without even touching them, but I figured since I've scheduled a third session in a week I might as well take care of it.

Overall the look has literally been life changing.. It's so overwhelming to not have to think about something which consumed so much of my thoughts and demanded so much mental and physical preparation on a daily basis. If I want to do something lately, I just do it.. no need to think about my head first which is a truly amazing feeling...

Let me know what you veterans think

Here are some shots immediately after a foil shave which looks good to me (could possibly use a little more density).. Ideally I'd like the look to last me all day, but i realize this all depends on individual hair growth and mine may be a bit too quick to let it go that long.. I definitely cannot let it go as long as 2 days like some have mentioned on the forum.
