  1. SMP Laser Removal

Hello, I recently had a bad SMP result, not at HIS, and I want it to be removed, I live in San Diego California, Do you know of any clinics here that does laser removal for SMP? what's the typical price range and how many session would it require? I have a wedding coming on may 11 and I am hoping that there's enough time to remove this SMP. Thank you.
  2. Scar looking for help

Hello friends, I have a scar due to a hair transplant that I made 7 years ago. This scar affects me a lot. I have read in the posts that the laser fraxel can help me to flatten and smooth the scar before moving to SMP. Anyone who can share with me please your comments if you think the laser fraxel can help me? Thank you!
  3. Any full removal pics?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any pics/knows of anywhere to find pics of full laser removal? I know that tattoo removal rarely works 100% but I've heard great things about SMP removal because it's not as deep into the skin as SMP. I'd love to see some full removal pics to see how the scalp takes to it.
  4. SMP removal

Hi everyone Four years from getting my treatment done I'm back on the forum . I had significant hair loss in my early/mid 20's which was definitely not a pleasant experience as a young man it is considered too young to be bald. I think people who go bald in their 20s are much more affected than somebody who goes bald in their 30s/40s. I'm now in my late 20s and I have overcome the insecurity that I had when I was younger. I see that they are doing in-house laser removal now which is a relief considering it will be more safe and straightforward now and there will be more information availible at hand Can anyone who has been through the MHT removal proceedure tell me their experience on how it went and what to expect? How much would it cost roughly to get just the hairline removed? and are there any side effects of this laser treatment? Would I lose any hair follicles? I dont want to lose any even though only the sides of my hair grows now Thanks P.S is there any other alternatives to laser removal? like a removal cream which is endorsed by HIS hair clinic?
  5. The real test of a pigment provider's skill is when they can make a bald, fair skinned, scarred, white guy's head look like it is a shaved, full head of real hair. I am that guy. I have had smp done at two places in the U.S. I have many strip scars from hair transplants years ago. I consider myself an expert on what to do and what not to do regarding baldness solutions ----and smp in particular. The first place that I got smp wouldn't take my hairline down far enough. The second place made my hairline ridiculously low and way too straight(I specifically told them not to do this). Also, the pigment was too dense. Had to get all of that ink lasered off! I found the best place to get all of the pigment lasered off. Just two sessions with the most recent Picosure laser. And, they can anesthetize your whole head, as it is quite painful without a serious numbing agent. I am now going to get smp done "right", in May, at a great place that I have found through extreme research and through trial and error. If possible, I want to help someone avoid going through all that I've gone through in order to get a quality smp. If anyone is interested in avoiding my mistakes, get in touch and I'll be glad to tell you about what you need to know and about who I am going to to get smp done correctly. Also, some insight on what/who to avoid. My intention is to help someone out, not to promote or put down ANY business.--------I have also found products (lotions, sunscreens) that work best to maintain smp ----moisturize, protect, stop shine etc. All through trial and error. Which is a time consuming expensive way to find all of this out. But, perhaps it was the only way for me because most people/places seem to be only interested in money. Everyone claims that their product, or service, is the best. They will promise you the world and make amazing claims. I have suffered a great deal because of their confusing tactics; I wish that there had been a truly unbiased source for me to go to when looking into smp. Hopefully I can be that source for someone else.
  6. Hi guys finally had laser yesterday to fade and lighten the top , it seems the laser has blasted away a lot of ink - I have lots of bald patches now. Any advice from anyone who has had it before? Slightly panicking!
  7. SMP Laser Removal in Toronto?

Hello all, Firstly, let me say I will not be bashing HIS or SMP. So please don't flood the thread with questions about my treatment. If I were to have SMP treatment done again I'd go to HIS. My treatment is as good as SMP can good as it gets being the problem here. I had 3 sessions of SMP and now, 2 months later, regret it to the point of having falling into a depression. I was a confident, good-looking bald guy in my 20s and 30s, always with my head shaved. Had never looked into a "solution" for my "problem". Baldness never stopped me from doing anything. A couple of years ago I came across a poster for SMP at a pub washroom. I thought "what an interesting idea". Then went on with my life but started to look at myself in the mirror and think "humm, what would it be like for me?" Every now and then I would watch HIS videos on YouTube, etc. Fast forward 2 years later, I paid over CA$5,000 for 3 sessions. Since my very first one, I've been living in a miserable hell! I don't know who those guys on the videos work with or what they do, but everyone noticed my head from the first session, and I even took a week off. People stare at it, some ask what it is, some know about "head tattoos". Most are polite and try not to stare and don't comment. But their eyes stilll go there. You can't be bald then show up with dots on your head and expect people not to notice/comment. After my second session it became even more apparent. Then the 3rd cmae a month after and it still looks like something strange has happened to the top of my head. MY TREATMENT IS AS GOOD AS THE VIDEOS...but I do not live in a studio with dark lights and make up on my head, so any amount of light shows a weird conglomeration of tiny dots shinning bright for all to see. It's one thing to have a shinny head and be bald. It's a completely different thing to have a shinny top of the head where it is grey/'s a different shine and it is BRIGHT. I'm embarrassed to go places, I didn't even own hats before and now I've a collection, I've bought all the products for shine available in Canada and abroad and nothing removes the shine and the fact that I have tiny dots on my forehead and head. I'm on medication for depression and anxiety because of the past 5 months. I will not name names or badmouth HIS. Except for the fact that when they say SMP can be completely removed by HIS, they mean ONLY IN LONDON. Well, maybe if I had another $5,000, but how the hell can I afford two trips to London? And how can I trust a company here to laser my freaking head and get me back to being the confident man I was? They do not have the expertise or even know how. I want my life back and am desperate. So, can someone please recommend a clinic in Toronto/NYC/even Chicago area? How come we can't see a photo of the after Laser treatments completed by HIS? It's usually the laser treatment in progress, right after, or after the new hairline gets put in. What will my head look like after Laser? I've made a big mistake. If baldness is an issue for you, I'd recommend the treatment. If you have good self-esteem and are confident with your bald head like I was, think long and hard...
  8. Folks, I was hoping to get some opinions. I have a very wide scar. I recently had 5 vbeam laser treatments. Which has helped a bit. Do you think I could smp the scar and get decent camo? Or is this just too much of a monster scar? 5 to 14mm in some spots. It's relatively flat. Completely flat in some areas slightly raised in others.
  9. Hello everyone, One of the reasons people proceed with this treatment is the assurance that it can be removed by laser, if it is required. I know that a Q & A session was done by the laser practitioner (Katrina) where she answered some important questions and gave valuable information about the laser procedure. We have all seen the before and after pics of pre and post SMP but never for SMP removals by laser. No matter how much we are 'told' about the results from the laser treatment for hairline adjustments or complete removal, a picture is worth a thousand words. My questions to the forum members who had the laser treatment done are- 1. What were you trying to achieve with the laser treatment(hairline adjustment, lighten, complete removal, etc.)? 2. Were there any issues regarding the laser treatment? 3. Are there any important precautions or huge risks involved in the laser treatment? 4. How many sessions did you require to get the results? 5. From your experience, what advice can you give to someone who is planning to get the laser procedure done? 6. Do you have any before and after pics and can you upload them (HIS forum, imgur, etc.)? Also, Damien or anyone else, if you are aware of persons who had the laser treatment done (and have pics), I would appreciate if you can upload some pictures too. Thank you Moe
  10. Hello all. I had some hair transplants when I was in my early 20s (biggest mistake of my life) and I'm 45 now. I wore a hairpiece and a baseball cap for way too long, and after meeting with Matt (NYC), I will be getting SMP. The problem is, the hair transplants have really damaged my head. I got quite a few laser hair removal sessions done to get rid of the pluggy HT growth, and while this was very effective, I could still use a couple of more sessions. The bigger problem is the cobblestoning or ridges the HT created on top of my head. To remedy this, I was told Fraxel would be my best bet. So, after spending a few thousand dollars on Fraxel, the cobblestoning/ridges remain. I'm now searching for a real solution to this problem. I just want a smooth top of my head, so I can finally get SMP done and get on with my life. I believe I may have found the solution. There's a Dr. Epstein who works out of NYC and FLA and he does something called "Endoscopic Ridge Reduction". I have a consultation with him at the end of this month, and I'm excited to hear what he has to say. The person I spoke with on the phone said I could see a 90% improvement from this technique, but it will come at a cost (from $5 thousand to $12 thousand). My question is, has anyone else heard of this technique? If so, is it effective? Is it worth the high cost? Are there any other doctors who do something similar for a lower price? Any information would be appreciated! I want a LIFE! -William
  11. Alright, I posted a thread bout a week ago about this topic and I've decided its time to put up or shut up. I have my first laser hair removal treatment this Friday. Probably won't have great results as the initial laser setting will be low to keep from cooking my dome and to see how it takes. The laser they will be using is the Palomar Vectus. It is relatively new but supposed to be better than previous models. We'll see, the head is quite stubborn compared to other body hair. I have no scars, no past Hair transplants. I'm in my 30's with what used to be dirty blonde hair and as you will see a Norwood 5 or probably closer to 6. I have a few stragglers on top but not much. I will take some pics of my hair line / horse shoe before, and then pics as I go of anything notable i.e. burns, redness, or difference in growth density which is the goal. I grew my hair out a few days to get an obvious hair line, mainly for my HIS consultation. The laser treatment I will shave to skin 24 hours before. The treatments are spaced out 4 weeks and I expect a good 6 or 7 to get the job done so this thread will be very uneventful day to day, but hopefully at the end of my journey I will have a hair free scalp. Worst case, no more shaving for this guy and no more shadow. Best case, the SMP I have been reading so much about and researching proves to be as advertised when I see it in person in April and I let HIS go to work on a blank canvas. Win win for me. Pics to come. I'm not gonna try to take amazing quality photos this first round as all its gonna show is my horse shoe with a few days growth. I will take better pics in daylight after I shave tomorrow evening so you can see my freshly shorn shadow. For clarification when I say "shave", I mean shaving cream and a razor against the grain. I don't own or use electric razors, oddly enough gives me worse razor burn?? EDITED BY DAMIEN - BaldnBald has asked me to amend this thread to remove any photos posted directly to this discussion. ALL of his photos are available via the Photobucket links found throughout this thread
  12. Laser before treatment

Hello all, So I have been going back and forth about lasering the dome permenantly or doing SMP. SMP scares me a bit, mostly for the long term viability. Regardless, it hit me why not laser first. I think the blending would be easier, I am sick of shaving regardless, and would never have to worry about missing two days and looking foolish. I am also wondering about how well the laser removal works on the SMP? Thoughts anyone? Thanks in advance.
