I always assumed it would have to be at least a grade 0 and never seriously thought with my degree of hair loss that I could pull off anything longer than that. That was definitely the main difficulty I had to overcome when deciding whether to have SMP.
That said, following my two sessions I've been taking some time to determine for myself what works for me. As indicated in my most recent posts above I am now no longer using clippers but am using my 'modified' foil shaver. This is leaving the slighlty rough shave feel that I was hoping for, in fact probably even a bit shorter than that. When done just before bed it looks good for the next day, but with my degree of hair loss it's definitely a daily routine.
But..... I do think I might be being a bit picky. My wife said I looked absolutely fine with my grade 0 clipper buzz and she couldn't see any issue.

bobobaldy reacted to the bald ego in Just about to get SMP (few questions)
I keep mine in an old salt shaker, and sprinkle a miniscule amount into one hand and then just rub it all over my scalp for a few seconds.
That’s all it takes to get a fast, cheap, chemical-free no-shine scalp.

Have you considered rotary shave before bed? Then your bracing the world with 8 hour stubble.
Personally I would slightly lower the middle with a light and sparse sprinkle. Ideally the hairline is a blur rather than a line.Im sure once the redness subsides and pigment fades it will soften further.

I'm rubbish with this but had a go at receding it slightly myself:

I thought Ranbir and Ian were off empire building. I didn't think they were still hands on. Is it cheeky to ask how Ian's much anticipated the/SMP combo is looking ?

Just to confirm "a His practitioner " or a recognised HIS clinic ? In about 8 years in this forum I haven't seen results like this which could mean you have a unique Constitution, or HIS have let their standards slip on you

Wow!  An amazing result.  The recession would make me think you shaved it because you were starting to thin out a bit.  No one would give it a suspicious look.  Congrats!

I may go to his just to have a check up but it’s more brecause of routine

The only way to fool people like us would be to leave a balding spot or have a hairline nobody would choose. But since we are less than about 0.1% of the population....

A followup: Ive now done two sessions, and although I didnt ask for it it looks like my crown is naturally thinning because I actually am thinning there. I am however going for a third session to cover the crown since it turns out SHVD was right, it does look real enough for me to be comfortable convincing people questioning it that it is real. Actually I would have no problem saying its a ”tattoo” either, since it looks good. Its no different from any other tattoo, of course we want to look better if we have the option to.

I think the only people who will ever truly "catch you out" (even though they probably aren't bothered anyhow) are those who have studied the procedure.  I was at a festival last week and walked past a family sitting on the grass enjoying a picnic. Straight away I looked at the guy and thought "SMP". I walked behind him and as the sun shone on his head I could clearly pick out his natural hair horse-shoe. But I bet I was the only person who spotted it and like I said above, people aren't going to bother you either way,

bobobaldy got a reaction from Ryan Seattle Star war in Has anyone thought of combining SMP + Hair Fiber?
I do remember somebody used to sprinkle hair from his shaver on his head, with moisturiser/sunscreen helping to make it stick. If they got dislodged or noticed he would say his shaver must have been full, helped confirm he was shaving his head.

You are not doing the smp-frown which makes the hairline seem even higher, but it is too high to look natural with such density. However it's an easy fix to drop it down subtly with density fading to a broken lighter hairline.
The sheer greyness of the head is exaggerated by the colourful beard also unfortunately.

The point is that it is the hairline that makes us look better, but a less endowed crown will put even the most suspicious off the scent.

Hi, you are in my opinion the perfect candidate for it. You have a hair and a hairline that  enables you to hide the treatment very well once done as you still would have a shadow on  head and with the smp it won’t be as drastic a change. But a big enough change for it to have an awesome effect  you could get away with a tiny bit of Growth
    good luck
