Hair Loss Treatment for Baldness, Thinning Hair, Alopecia & Hair Transplant Scar

   Last Friday I had my 3rd treatment(touchup). The pigments had faded and soften alot. It looked good, infact it made me doubt what to do. Go darker or touch it up with the same color(24) all over?

   I made up my mind and wanted it darker and a bit more dense on top. Basically I wanted it to stay the same as when I left after my 2nd treatments last year.

   So arrived Friday at the clinic a bit early and I was greated by Aldemar. We went upstairs and it was clear that my previous practionar wasn't there. I thought I didn't need to ask that when I made an appointment. I guess i should. I never change barber, always go to the same because he knows my hair and knows what I want. I felt the same that day at the clinic and was ready to leave. Always listen to instinct, but everything is a blurr at that moment(travelling, the excitement of the treatment etc. etc.). I looked at his certificate and after I talked to him about what I wanted I went ahead with the treatment.

   I wanted the pigments darker on top and fade to a lighter color. last time I had 24 which faded nicely,  so he went with 20 which probably will fade to a much lighter, but a more present color. The side, not all the way down, was done with a 24 used last time which again will fade giving it a nice fade/taper cut as a end result...hopefully. I'm 100% sure I'll need another checkup, but that I'll wait a month ot two after it has fully settled.

   The procedure took a few hours and was as painfull as ever! I took 4 painkillers prior to the treatment which didn't help or maybe it did and they saved me from more cruel and unusual punishment. I had to take a few breaks.

   When he was half done I went to the bathroom to pee and peek. Wow! What a shock! It was dark and harsh. The difference with the faded treatment was night and day. At that moment alot of things go through your head; What if the pigments decide not to fade? I have a freaking tattoo on my head? How much is laser treatment? What's the name of that girl again I met earlier? I tapped off and went back. Yes! I washed my hands....

   After we were done I was happy with the outcome. Not as trilled after my 2nd treatment, because it's now a lot darker and harder to be faded into the same color and density as after my 2nd treatment which was amazing!

   My hairline was lowered an inch. And the top and side made more dense.
   I spend alot of time drawing a hairline myself and getting used to it.

   First pic after my 2nd treatment. I was in heaven, never been happier!. Those of you whon remember. After the first treatments I freaked out, because it was dotty and to spaced out eventhough my practionar warned me for that.

   The 2nd was a few weeks after my 2nd treatment. It faded alot, but still very nice.

   Pics taken the night after my touchup on Friday. The back nis now more dense. My scalp is terrible and abused with relaxers and such. So when the pigments faded the spots were obvious again.

   Taken yesterday. Pigments begin to settle.... They did the top and the sides to create a fade. I hate my scalp. Those damn little patches! Gives my look an uneven appearance...

   Love the shape as seen in first pic. And the fade. Those sharp edges and the fade is how my barber used to cut it. Glad to have that back:).

   Yesterdays pics. Sorry for the poor quality. It was taken with my Iphone. When i use my High Res camera I have to convert them properly otherwise they won't upload. Then it's still trial and error. I can't be bothered with that today;)

   Taken today in natural lighting.....

   Terrible scalp.

   2nd pic my scalp is dry. I had to trim it everyday. Now I have about 3 days growth.

   It will fade more and offcourse shrink. I will do a another checkup in a few months after it has fully settled.

   Thanks to everybody for the help and support.

   The last few months I lived without a cap and was more outgoing. To me this MHT thing is perfect. It's a long process and a expensive one(debatable), but worth every penny because I have my life back.

   For those on the fence. Don't force it! This is a huge lifechanging decision. You are getting a freaking tattoo on your head! The most prominent part of your body. So I understand dudes like DHT. But whatever you do, go to HIS because you know you get quality. Those who are going to do it: You won't regret it.

    Glad to hear from you again. 

    Those last set of pictures taken in "natural" lighting look fantastic.  The pigmented follicles look like real hair follicles and seem to match your native follicles quite well.

    When you said that in time the treatment will once again fade and shrink, what do you mean exactly?  Is the fading merely the dots becoming slightly lighter in shade?

    When you said shrinking will occur, do you refer to the fact that the pigmented follicles they created will somehow change in overall size?  Is this somehow related to how much your scalp absorbs versus how much is just excess pigment that is left superficially on your scalp?

    Either way, your head looks pretty damn good.  I wouldn't even take a second look if I saw you in public; I would just assume that you're another guy with a full head of hair.

    @DHT. Going by my 2nd treatment the pigments turned out very light after a while which didn't match my natural hair color. So I had to keep it real short and practically had to shave it twice a day. IMO it looked good after a while of getting used to, but I wanted it to stay the same right after my 2nd treatment. We went  darker this time for it to fade to match the color it was after my 2nd treatment.

     As for shrinkage. They clean your head at the clinic. My guess is after the skin heals and settles to a normal state(your skin gets abused severely) the dead part of your skin which also containing pigmentation and excessive color, gives the illusion of shrinkage after washing/cleaning it. It's hard to explain, but if you ever had tattoos you know what I mean. Difference is that MHT heals alot faster.

    BTW for those who like to know, When touching up existing pigments are touched up. You won't end up with a blob of paint on your head. What i did noticed from the very beginning is that a few pigments are as small as a pin. I mean a few hours after razor shaving small. Is this randomness or could it be done technically? I forgot to ask. in my case they were still visible after a few months.  Some people could really benefit from that.

    Thanks for posting your recap, your treatment looks great and obviously suits you.

    I have also had the treatment and am very happy with it, its about one month now since my last procedure, there is a little amount of fading on top, which is highlighted under bright lights. 

    My practitioner, who is an absolute star and whose advice I will always take on board, has said it is best for me to leave treatment to settle a couple months and he will reappraise what we have, and that's great by me.

    The reason I'm interested in your treatment is the "fade" from top down a few shades to sides, I think that's a great idea and I'm really interested to see how yours develops, it may not be a new technique but one I did think about mentioning to my practitioner, so now I can be prepared.

    A week has passed. The pigments have faded a lot! Seems my skin absorbs the ink heavely.

    At this point I'm not happy with the outcome. Some spots are darker then other. Hopefully that will fade the coming weeks. The fading cut technique didn't work out quite well. On the left and backside you can see the line from dark to a lighter pigment color. The pigments of the lighter color(24) seem to be dissapeared, so add to this all the small patches and white spots which are visible again, the total look is not good at all.

    I'm toying with the idea to let my hair grow to complent the MHT(plan B) or to go for more touchup to even things out and fix it.

    I just don't think my scalp is suited for MHT. I mean if they can fix LPP, who had a worse condition scalp then mine, and not me it's time to be realistic and call it quits. I can only spend so much time and money.

    Got alot of thinking to do.

    hi magic, do you have pics to share? is it something really noticeable that people might ask what has happened to your head? im sure HIS can fix this, but like what you said, we can only spend so much time and money.

    I'm sorry to hear that so much fading has occurred. 

    Do you think that maybe with another couple of weeks, the fading effect will be distributed across the scalp, lending to a proper blending of the pigments all around?

    Do you feel that the pigments have faded to the point where the result doesn't look as realistic as you would like?

    How did this last session's experience compare to what you experienced after your last set of sessions with your old practitioner?

    I agree in that everyone's scalp is different and unique in such a way that your skin's ability to retain the pigment is completely individualistic.  In any case, there is a year warranty and I would use that for what it's worth and make sure that all matters get resolved to your liking.

    At least from what we've seen in other cases, this sort of phenomenon isn't unheard of.  We also know that while it does happen every so often, His will do whatever it takes to fix things.

    Either way, I know it must suck to think that you might have finally been done, to now find yourself going back over and over.

    Be persistent, don't give up and make sure you get what you want at the end,

    I'm trying guys.

    The last time it faded equally, but it turned out quite tin. I wanted it to stay the same as right after my second treatment. At some point it did, but the faded some more. The follicles on my hairline area looks kinda dull, grey and flat. Over time this may look better when it's fully healed and settled, but the sharpness is gone right now.

    We went darker to give me that rush I had right after my second treatment after fading, just like that homepage pic everybody is excited about. Mine looked like that in real life.  We went with color 20 and now it kinda looks Basketballfan's last pic and he had 30+ pigment.

    I know HIS will try anything to make me content, but how dark can you go? If it keeps turning dull, flat and greyish then what's the point.

    I got alot of thinking to do.

    It's never going to stay as dark as when you first get out of the session. The pigments settle and lose a bit of that "pop" I think you're responding to and you like. That said, I'm not sure your end result is ever going to look as dark and rich as it does right after treatment. 

    
    

    I would definitely see if you can talk to Ian about your concerns. The fact that you had Aldemar, who did my work, do your recent stuff means you were in very good hands. 

    
    

    One thing I wonder is your scalp very dry? Are you flaking a lot or do you see patches of dryness? I know the dryness or flaking can be a problem but you don't seem to mention that so I'm guessing that's not it.

    Agree with LPP sentiments.  Any issues you have contact HIS and they will sort it for you. I was told that everybody's skin is different and some take longer to take. Im sure HIS can sort out any problems as they have shown many times.

    Had 3 sessions in London during January/February 2012. Very very happy :)

    LPP you described it perfectly. That "pop" and "richness" is what I'm looking for or close to that. When I saw Ian's MHT it represented that, but then again his scalp is normal.

    Today I hit the gym hard for obvious reasons. Truth be told, looking in the mirror, from the front it looks good, but I know it's patchy and spotty at the rest of my head.

    To be clear! None of my practionars are to blame. Aldemar did an awesome job on LPP. I mean Wow!  And Damon... well that speaks for itself. I had put all my money on the 3rd session to be done with it. I was so sure it would turn out the way I wanted. I should be more patient maybe.........

    @LPP My scalp has small patches and white spots here and there. I do have dry scalp, but I keep it moist.  My MHT will never be as even as Ian's i.e, but I like the patches to be less obvious which it did right after the 3rd treatment. i was so stoked:)

    @DHT. Both my experiences were good. The fading turns the pigments kinda dull. I was expecting it to fade, but not to this extend. A little bit of "pop" and richness would be welcome.

    I know HIS will do everything to help, but you can't keep building up the ink. And the time. It's going to take months. The healing, settling, waitinglist, my schedual etc. etc.

    In my 4th session, which was a really a mini-session, they worked on filling in some of the white spots/patches I have from my condition that the pigment needed to be built up in. I notice them more than anyone else does, but I did have a couple of problem spots that needed addressing.

    
    

    To be honest, I'm not sure those spots will ever be perfect but they are better than they were. I think, in my case, the difference is the skin quality/texture in those spots vs. other places on my scalp.

    
    

    That said, I think they make my result look more natural. The fact that you see some imperfection helps in my opinion. It's like guys who leave a scar or spot on their head.

    
    

    I know we all want it perfect in every spot, but sometimes a little bit of realism helps pull this off. 

    
    

    Definitely post some new pics of what you are seeing in here and let us look at it. None of us are blowing smoke at you when we look at your pics and comment on them. At least I'm not.

    A week has past. I must say I'm quite happy with it.

    A week ago it looked flat and kinda dull. Now the color comes through better and the follicles look authentic. Before I did the touchup I doubted to do it because it did look good, altough very light, after a few moths of settling. I wasn't sure if it was mindtricks or just the settling of the pigments. Now I'm positive it's part of the settling.

    I will not go darker, but I do need a touchup to even things out. I'll give it time to fully settle and go from there.

    So the past week was good for me. No worries. Today a female collegeau told me I should let my hair grow. Nothing special about that, cause she likes men with hair. But when she called me an idiot, while standing in my face,  for shaving my had when I have so much of it confirmed it for me........

    I would be stupid not to go through with it.
