Hi All
How long will it take to settle

Current hair system wearer and more paranoid of the hair system as quizzed on it recentlyReally want to press ahead with this treatmentI have spent the last 3 months every night on his siteI understand the the treatment doesn't really come together until the second treatmentTherefore will need to take 2 weeks of workI can only do this around march and to make it fit would mean that 4 days post treatment I will be at an important functionWhat I am after is reassurance that 4 days post 2nd treatment that it will not just look like dots on my headReally appreciate your help and adviceThanksPosted 3 months ago #

I dont think anyone can give you that kind of 100% assurance. There are a number of variables not least of which is how your skin takes to the pigment. Some, including myself, were happy after the second treatment, enough to be able to occasionally take off my hat after the treatment had settled. However it was only after the third treatment that I was confident enough to walk around without a hat on a permanent basis , and that was after a couple weeks after my last treatment. It was more psychological with me though. I was 100% sure whether people would notice the MHT, as it is nobody has so I do not wear hats very often now, unless it is freezing cold.

It took about 2-3 days for mine to settle. I have only had 2 treatments so far, but it was after the 2nd one that I felt 100% comfortable to walk around without a hat. Its been a few weeks since my 2nd and I havent had one single negative comment from anyone.
Had 3 sessions in London during January/February 2012. Very very happy :)Posted 3 months ago # -
Jaygatsby is quite right, but 4 days is usually enough for the pigments to settle and the redness to subside. Worst case scenario, you could always postpone your last session, but you wont know if thats a viable option until the time.

Thanks for coming back to me
I am a Norwood 6 I am expecting too much from the second session? As stated 4 days post 2nd treatment i will not be able to hide under a hatFeeling very self conscious with my hair system and want to gain my confidence and life backPosted 3 months ago # -
4 days after your second session is cutting it a bit fine, it has to be said. To be honest, I'm the wrong person to ask. I think you need to ask either Ian, or a practitioner, as they are in a better position to estimate your progress by that point.

It all depends. I could have gone anywhere I wanted after day one. It all depends on how particular you are about your looks.
Good luck and probably better to plan to have this done after or way before your important function that you are concerned about..
Huge changes in life in general create internal pressure. Going from a hair piece to a short hair look before an important function ? probably not the best way to go from a stress perspective. ..
It can be done but usually even the best of us would boil over internally a bit.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your help
I work in a very customer focused / facing job where I will also not be able to hide under a hatI was hoping 2 weeks off work would carry me throughI may need to rethink things throughPosted 3 months ago # -
I'm relying on one week off work when it comes to it so hopefully I should look okay by the time I return. I think once the redness goes down, no matter what stage you're at it's going to look real, just maybe not as dense/ dark as the final look will be.
Currently saving up for MHT, aim to get it done by May/ June
Using dermmatch on my frontal hairline and also to replicate shaved follicles on my side profiles.Posted 3 months ago # -
Haird Enough - If you're going back to work 4 days after your 2nd treatment I think you're going to be great. Seriously. My redness was the worst after the first session and that took about 3 days to die down. Each subsequent session the recovery time from redness to normal was shorter.
If you have 2 treatments scheduled and then 4 days to recover before work I honestly think you'll be fine. I had patches filled in all over my head and my redness settled by then.Good luck whatever you choose to do!I suffered from a form of scarring alopecia called Lichen Planopilaris. I had my first treatment with HIS on 11/28/2011 and it's changed my life for the better.
