Hey guys,
Been browsing HIS for a while now and really fancy getting the treatment done within the year hopefully but I'm still unsure as I was stupid enough to get a transplant a few years back so am still worried about how the scars will look. Biggest mistake of my life, I'd probably already have had MHT done by now if I didn't have this scarring to worry about!
One thing I've noticed however is I haven't really seen much photos of anyone who has had FUE transplant scars treated. I went down this route and although this type of procedure is meant to be relatively scar free I have quite a bit of scarring as I basically went to a butcher of a surgeon! Basically I have a lot of white dots (a bit bigger than your average FUE dot scar as the surgeon used a bigger punch size) in the shape of a strip scar rather than evenly throughout the back of my head. This was done so that I could keep my hair at the back longer to cover up any signs that I had had any surgery. I have attached a couple of photos (neither of them are actually me, used google instead) to try and explain what I mean.
The scars appear like the white dots in the 1st pic but are slightly bigger. The placement of them on the back of my head is similar to the 2nd pic densly packed in a strip and a lot more (1000 grafts). This means that if I shave down to a #2 or lower you can see a strip of thinner / see through hair that stands out at the back. This annoys me the most about it all when the main reason you would go with FUE is to allow you to still shave your hair down short if you wish!
Just looking for some advice of whether this would be easily concealed by MHT or if it would still stand out. I know it's hard to say as each case is different, but hopefully as it's only small dots rather than a strip it would be easier to conceal. Glen's video is about as similiar to my situation as I can find although he has old style larger punch grafts. I was impressed with his results however when you see him standing side on talking to Ian once his treatment is complete you can still make out the scarring a bit. This seems to be more due to the surface of his skin which appears bumpy where the scarring is, rather than the appearance of the MHT which is practically flawless.
If I could be confident of it being almost unnoticeable I'd practically get myself booked up tomorrow.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
