Hi guys, im all new to this forum, Im 28 years old from Ireland and have been loosing hair slowly since i was about 21 but in the last 2 years it has got worse, part of my reason for losing it slowly was that i used 5% minoxidil and amazingly it did work for me, it helped to slow it down and grow back hairs slightly BUT (and a big BUT) not without side effects, ive used it on and off since i was about 23 but found that if i used it straight for 6 months or more daily without taking a month or 2 break my eybrows started to grow down under my eyes, i kid you not, i thought i was headin for the circus at 1 stage and for that i would not recommend it to any1.. Anyway, its the most inconvenient, messy, time consuming form of treatment out there and eventually i stopped using it about 5 months ago and now the inevitable is happening and im heading down the road of loosing it all on top, Im at about a stage 4 on the scale and getting very light on top but when shaved with a 1 blade i still have slightly good stubble around the top so my question is if i did get the MHT treatment, do i have a choice between a Buzz Style Treatment and a Close Shave Style Treatment or is that decision made for you by the lads in HIS on the basis of what they think going by your existing hair, I have seen both and have massive preference towards Buzz Style as believe me that shaving my head skin tight with a razor blade (although it suits every pic i have seen with lads that have it tightly shaved) it does me absolutely no favours whatsoever as i found out the hard way but i would be willing to shave with a '0' blade as i have done in the past and it looks ok... Also, I must say i was getting excited just looking at some of the results the lads have got from this type of treatment, i am already feeling better about myself knowing there is a treatment this simple available which looks that good. Thanks in advance for reading :-)
Buzz Style or Close Shave Style??

Hey Paul,
Welcome to the forum! It really depends on the remaining hair you have left up top. If you're pretty diffuse all over and would consider yourself to be a NW 4 - I'd say the absolute shortest you could go would be a zero / no guard. Keep in mind they do make trimmers that shave even closer than that which might work out nicer since you wouldn't have to be shaving your head every 1-2 days. Your best option is to have a consultation, good luck!DD123Posted 6 months ago # -
Hi DD123,
And thanks for the post.. A consultation is what i thought myself but im in Ireland and the closest is birmingham in UK so its a small bit out of my way for just a consultation but on the other hand i would travel 10 times that to get the treatment done if it proved positive for me :-).. I have read on forums about sending photos by email to HIS and im prob gonna do that in the next few days and see what they say.. Il let ye know how i get on.Also, If i do eventually go ahead with this treatment, i will log all info and photos on this forum as for me been in the position im in at the moment i understand exactly how any1 feels about looking into this treatment and know that the more information and before/after pictures they see, the more confidence the will build in deciding if MHT is the treatment for them..First and Second treatment complete... 3rd session done on March 28th.... Paul, are you on Skype? Might be an idea to arrange a Skype consultation. If you'd prefer this option, please call us to arrange.
Different clients find they can get away with different lengths. For example, for those who are thinning on top but still have a good frontal hairline (not receding), they can get away with a longer hair length, because the treated area is simply adding density. For those who have receded, and MHT is therefore their only 'hair' on parts of their scalp, they are usually required to shave, either with a razor or a shaver such as the Remington R91 (as used in our clinics).
I am based in the UK and spend a lot of time at the Harborne clinic in Birmingham, managing the website and forum. Want to contact me? Send me a PM or email me - damien@hishairclinic.com
