So now I had to shave my head, but as anyone who is losing their hair knows, the difference between someone with a full head of hair shaving their head and someone who’s balding shaving their head is as obvious as night and day. So to get round this little problem, I carried on using the concealer to apply a shadow on my head to make it look like I had a full head of hair that had been shaved off. In all honesty it did not look too bad (see pictures below of before and after applying the concealer) and no one ever said anything to me about it (that means they didn’t notice right?).
The downside was that it took anything from 20-30 mins per day to apply. After 3 to 4 hours the scalp would get a little greasy (even more so if I was outdoors and it was sunny) and I’d have to pat my head lightly with a tissues and to make sure that I did not take too much of the concealer off onto the tissue. Also I could not let anyone rub their hands over my head (which people for some reason tend to do to bald people). I was also conscious about being in areas which were well lit, as I thought people might have been able to spot that something was not quite right. Hence me typing in “tattoo your head” into google to see if another solution was available, and I’m glad to see that there is one.
I went up to Birmingham last week for a consultation with Ian (who’s head looks amazing) and decided there and then that this is exactly what I have been looking for. I’m having my first session done at the end of next week and will keep a diary on this thread as I go through the various stages as well as adding new pictures of my head during the process.
(I’m still in 2 minds whether to go for 1 day or 1.5 days pigment match, as I think 2 days will be a bit too dark – Would be interested to hear what others who have had the treatment done think?)

2012 UPDATE: 3 Years On – Still Going Strong (with New Pictures)</a

AFTER - Pictures in normal daylight with no light on:
I’ve had a total of 4 sessions; The first one was 3 hours long. The second one was only around 20 minutes as my hairline was dropped a little. The third session was around 90 minutes and consisted of filling in the areas on my head. The fourth session was 45 mins long as I wanted a slight change to my side profiles and a little more filling in was also done. So in total, less than 6 hours to achieve the effect that can be seen in the pictures above.
I now shave my head once a day as this gives me the best look (wet shave with a razor going against the grain). Some days I do leave it for 2 days before shaving however it looks much better if I shave daily.
If anyone had any questions/concerns then do not hesitate to post and I will check back on this thread from time to time and do all I can to help.
