First Treatment On 20Th June In Chicago - Thoughts!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

A friend of mine had the treatment done and although I have been losing my hair for probably 12/13 years (since the age of 16/17) - I am 29 now, it hasn't affected me too much confidence wise.

During the ages of 17 to about 26 it did really get to me and I was taking minox, finasteride, even
dutasteride. I've eventually come off all of them (about 2 years ago) as
I didn't know what the heck they would do for my body long term (the
internal stuff anyway) - occassionally I still put on some minox, but
mainly on my cheeks as I think the finas and duta stopped me growing a
beard!

Anyway, I was looking over the site and I'm
traveling the world at the moment and I figured, screw it, this could
make me look better for the next 10 years, all through my 30s and that
might make a slight different to my confidence and therefore,
inevitably, the women I attract - it all comes down to that!

I'm excited and apprehensive about my treatments, not least because I have
to get on a plane to Canada 2 days after my second treatment and dread
the moment the border control says 'take your hat off' in case I look
like the victim of some accident, or he wonders how I got hair when I am
more bald on my passport!

I'm going to stay with a receded hairline as my hair has always been high and not go too dense, only two sessions.

I don't think I can post pics until I have 10 posts...

In regards to your comment about staying with a receeded hairline.  I agree that having it receeded to match your age is the way to go.  However, as well as this, I would recommend going with a hairline that *suits you*.  If it suits your face bringing the hairline *somewhat* forward, then do it.  I think playing around with an eyeliner is essential to determine your new hairline.  Try out lots of different lines, even lines that you think won't look right.  Just mess around as you maybe surprised.

Remember that you will look like you have a full head of hair.  People who aren't thinning on top generally aren't receeding to a hugely significant level either.

I think some people who have had this treatment done have their hairline too receeded which doesn't quite gel with the full head of hair they have on their crown.

Sorry for rabbling, just MHO :)  all the best :)

Thanks. I think I sunburned my head today, so tomorrow my head is gonna feel raped.

I will keep you posted.

I caught the sun a bit before my second session. Didn't make any difference to the pain level so try not to worry about it

Just uploaded pics two hours after - I'd be happy to wear no hat already. It was quite a painful session, especially on the temples but no pain, no gain! The results look great - it possibly looks a little too dark but I think this should fade a bit so the second session on the 25th will looks great!

Hard to believe really, I'm 29 - it's not going to make me look 19 obviously but it takes years off - I looked quite young for my age (even with some hair loss) but could probably pass for 27 now.

It's a weird feeling to go from low hair density and very receded to immediately go to looking like this :)

I'm not complaining though! :)

hey man,

yeah i thought pretty hard about the hairline and it's good, just have to think if the side profile is too straight up as this isn't particular normal for a caucasain guy.

Matt did my treatment, very good!

Just seen your gallery pics. Amazing transformation. I'd be well happy with that. Congratulations. Takes years off you.

Thanks, yup - second treatment should be the icing on the cake as they say! :)

Updated my gallery with 4 day after first treatment pics, second treatment tomorrow.

It looks better in these pics than it does it the mirror. In the mirror I struggle to see the new hairline as it's faded out a fair amount - I'm looking forward to seeing the results a couple of weeks post tomorrow's session.

Hey shavesnut, looked through your gallery and the treatment looks great. Staying with a recede hairline is definitely the way to go, it looks much more realistic. You said in your first post you have to get on a plane to Canada, just wondering if your from Toronto?

Hey - thanks - just had second session done but I don't think I'll post pics for a week as today is not really the finished article.

I'm actually from London in the UK but I'm traveling all over the place, heading to Vancouver :)

Hey,

i just uploaded two pics, thought I better do it for continuinity and seeing how much it dies down over the next week. I need a week to see what it does. Hopefully it still looks good and that I don't need a 3rd session as I'm traveling all over the place.

Photos look great - for me, pain wise it's quite bad, but it's worth the pain. I'd say it was about as painful as a dentist drilling your teeth (on the front of the head) - on the back (where skin is thicker), the pain is more manageable.

Did it Chicago with Matt, he was over from New York for a couple of weeks.
