Ok im nearing my 1st procedure on thursday my hair length at the moment is clipped to a 1, Any other length and my hair looks stupidly thin but it shows the scar at the back of head.Im not happy with the outcome of the hair transplant. my crown is thin,my hairline receeded badly,my sides go way far back of my head making my temples look vulgar and making face look longer with my forehead. These photos actually make me look better but trust me its awful for what i paid for.Well this is the first set of pics il take some tommorow when im off work of my hair clipped to a 0.What you think i should do guys any ideas?

New to the forum. Wearing systems 20 plus years, very young looking and fit 40. I've read a few posts from elsewhere saying this procedure is not recommended for men with zero growth on top. I fall into that category. I think I have one hair last I counted. I have medium white skin, tans easy with dark brown hair on sides. A few greys, my one hair on top is still brown, when its grey I'll sadly shave it.
I'm tired of gluing hair to my head. I sweat lots, workout all the time and live under a hat most days and nights. Hope this is a good way to free myself. Appreciate all your comments.

I want this procedure but have a concern.

I have seen many pics on the forum of people who have had theirs done and posted pics shortly afterwards. There have been a number that look awful. You can see exactly where the treatment starts and ends. I am not referring to redness, the treatment looks too dark and the dots far too big.

My question is - is this because the treatment is fresh? Can people who have had this treatment confirm that for the first few days this is how it looks and it gets paler and the dots close up and get smaller.

I will try to post a couple of pics as an example

Scarredup5 on "Colour Matching (scar repair only)"

From what I understand the colour matching is done with shades of black - Is this the case? Right now, I can keep my scar buzzed to a #4/5 and it goes unnoticed - my hair colour is dark red. With my head shaved, the black will blend in well with the darker follicles growing through my scalp. My concern is if I am not happy with the camoflauge job of my scar and want to grow my hair back to it's present lenght will a black line show through my red hair? When the hair grows out it will be lighter in colour than the folicles when shaved. Concern #2 - I would like to keep my head buzzed to a #1 (1/8") as shown in the attached pic. Is this possible since I won't be getting my top done, so hairline blending isn't a concern. If anyone has had their scar done please PM me or let me know if you can get away with having your scar area kept at this length. [attachment=15356,1365]

I'm Scott, and until this morning at 6:00 AM I wore a hair replacement.. let me clarify. I started wearng "replacements" when I was 22, I am now 51. Nearly 30 years. 30 Years of "What crazy twist are they going to throw me this month". 30 years of walking head down into the wind, laying carefully when I sleep, bloody insane breakouts, random people staring, at the oddest moment, fear of rain, fear of high wind, fear of life without the illusion. At 9:30 this morning, I was given my freedom. Through every second of the process, I imagined the freedom.

My tech - I am ashamed to admit I cant for the life of me remember his name, I was so damned nervouse I can't imagine why, let's keep in mind he was one of maybe 4 people living who had seen me without hair. He was not a yes man, he offered me the opportunity to sketch my own hair line, then he gave me his - which btw was dead on.

I will add his name later - because his work was nothing short of artistic, and while he may not have been holding my hand all the way through the journey, he was honest and talented in his craft - I feel lucky to have had him.. I think my scetch would have suffered next to his. For those of you who are afraid.. be preparred for liberation.

Image. You carried this secret for 30 years - and in the first pass you stood for the first time ever with complete strangers sharing a drink feeling the wind on your head. Nobody was staring at your hair, for once it was just you.

I don't care how this comes off. When I get his name - despite his very "to the point" demeanor, I will tell you his eye is right on, that he gave me back my freedom, that for the first time in 30 years I felt the wind on my head. And lastly - I have no regrets. For those of you hiding under units.. step into the light.

So as I ponder and save continuously longer before working up the courage to go for the treatment, I constantly sort of try to imagine how the treatment would look on my head.

My problem is that, I have the typical horse shoe around my head (with a reasonable amount still on top but very thin compared to the rest) and I find that the hair that won't be falling out is different thicknesses. Described in the simplist way, the middle of my horse shoe shape is a lot thicker than where my neck is along the bottom and round.

So much so that i find myself shaving just this middle track twice a day as is become noticably darker before the rest.

Now this worries me when it comes to the treatment as i even wonder will they be able to achieve my hair look because it is SO thick it just looks a shade of grey and no dots after a fresh shave. And also will i be able to pull it off when the "middle bit" i referred to grows so quickly the top might not even blend half way through the day!

Sorry for the rant, its difficult to explain, but if anyone else has the same problem in thickness of their hair that won't fall out, or has had the treatment done successfully/unsuccessfully... Please let me know!

Now in the departing instructions I got it said no workouts for 4 days, now I have also read no workouts for 28 days after the LAST treatment. Now, does that mean that I can workout after 4 days out from treatment 1 and 2? I feel myself getting fatter by the second here :-(

Just wanted to drop a couple of lines here, since I've been reading this forum for quite a while now, but never actually bothered to set up an account. So, i'm finally here!

Little bit about myself: 25 years old, white, losing her since i remember, currently Norwood 4/5. Thanks to Fullmore concealers I managed to mask the thinning her to the point where not many people ever noticed i've been going bald. Just recently got to the point where the amount of hair is so limited, that could simply see through and I am afraid it will start to look ridiculous within a year or two. Time to change something!

I am actually scheduled for the 1st treatment in the NYC office with Matt few weeks from now. I had my initial consultation with him few months ago and absolutely loved the experience. He was great and explained the entire procedure in details. I decided to move forward and finally throw out dirty sprays covering whatever i have left up there.

Once concern that I started to have lately is the fact that considerable amount of people complained about the darkness and density of his work on this forum. One of the users of this forum posted pictures that looked like nothing got done after 3 treatments....and that's what obviously worries me. I want to make sure that density (especially vertex area) is going to be good enough that no one will notice the beginning of the horseshoe...

Does anyone here had any procedures done with Matt? I would be happy for any comments/advice or words of wisdom!

Thanks!

Sorry if this has been answered already, I couldn't find a search option on the forum.

I have been looking at this procedure for a few days, the results LOOK abso-bloody-lutley amazing, of that there is no doubt.

my question is how does it FEEL though, when I have given myself a buzz cut before sometimes people like to randomly run their hands through my head it as it feels like velvet to them. However, I'm thinking this would give the game away when they fun their hands through the bits that have been ink'ed on.

Anybody know what is going on with the Manchester clinic?? I had my skype consultation today then was hoping to book in to Manchester (i'm kinda depending on going to this specific clinic due to distance and travel costs with me living in Scotland). Was told that they are not yet able to take bookings for Manchester as it is in some sort of way, not ready. I'm thinking the only reason could be lack of staff but that's me just guessing. If anybody has any information at all then this would be a great help to me.

I am naturally a NW7, but had a hair transplant. I wet shave now and plan to keep doing so after my treatment. My question is whether guys in my similar situation get their whole head done, or just the bald/balding areas and the scar. My preference is to get the whole head done so it looks more uniform and I am concerned about scar camo if the scar only was done in the non-balding area. I was quoted a price for my whole head, which I assume means that my entire head will be done. Thanks!

I don't want to wet shave with a razor because I think that would be just a little too short at this point in my life, but I think a #1 would be too long given the fact that I want my hairline lowered and they will be putting ink in areas where I have no hair at all. Is there any way to get a tiny bit of stubble without going to a 1? Is that what the Remington R91 does? I have also heard the Wahl balding clipper is a good option for this but I want recommendations.

Hi,

I'm new to the forum. I have been looking at the website and on youtube at the results of MHT. I would like to meet someone who has had the treatment and to see what the final results look like. I am based in Norwich but willing to travel to meet somebody who has had the procedure done. Obviously I'd like to have a brief chat about your experiences and what your day to day life is like.

Thanks

First off, a little about myself. I am 39 years old and have been suffering from Alopecia Areata and of course MPB since I was in my mid twenties. I have had approximately 3 HT in the past 10 years with a wonderful 8 inch scar along the sides and back of my head as proof. I have been shaving my head since the first HT and also receiving Cortizone injections for all of the random Alopecia Areata spots that have periodically appeared across my dome. I have taken everything from propecia to rogaine to combat these unfortunate set of circumstances with little to no success most of the time.

And then about a year ago, I found HIS on the internet. I have experienced everything from fascination, disbelief, excitement, skepticism, to hope while trolling this website and of course the forums. I have read almost everyones comments and watched every video on youtube that was related to stories of clients before and after stories about their experiences with HIS. Overall, I have come to realize the immense impact of MPB and other scalp related issues have on everyday people like myself and the members on this forum. Naturally, the degrees of impact vary per each individual.

I have found this site and most importantly open forum a blessing for me. The members are very informative and willing to share their personal experiences. These selfless acts from other members has caused me to open up this topic and share my personal experiences. I know I might have pulled out from this site a long time ago if I did not feel like I had something in common with at least one person on these forums. The truth is, I have read about many members on this forum that I can completely relate to which has put me at ease.

Well to cut to the chase, I finally had my first consultation with Zhang on January 28 of this year at the Los Angeles Office. All I can say is that guy was awesome! He was soo laid back yet professional and truly engaged with my questions and concerns. He never once pressured me during the consultation. He allowed me to visually and physically inspect his head without any hesitation which of course I did! I was amazed! He had just completed another clients treatnment and he asked him if he would walk into the room and meet with me. I will not drop that clients name but I will also say that he was just as awesome of a person! He allowed me to visually and physically inspect his head to. I was truly in awe!

I can truly say that these treatments look soo much more realistic in person as oppossed to certain photographs.

So fast forward to today, February 16, 2012. I sent an email to schedule my first treatment. I will be in the Los Angeles Office this Saturday the 18th of February under the skilled hands of Ranbir. I feel like a kid on the night before Christmas! I will make sure to take before and after photos and do my best to update this forum in a timely fashion. I just want to thank everyone who has participated on this forum wether it was sharing negative or positive personal experiences. Every ounce of this forum/website allowed me to make the best informed non rushed decision for myself.

Who knows, maybe there is someone out there reading my post and it is exactly what they needed to hear. Either way, yall of your stories and experiences have helped me tremendously therefore it just wouldnt be right if I didnt share my experiences as well.

My apologies for this long winded message. Take care everyone. I will update soon!

Hey just a question; I already scheduled my first session in NY for March 30th, and I can't hardly wait, my consultation was with Matt, however, I am not sure if he is the one who will be working on me or someone else. I have read really nice things about him pertaining to his work, I guess my question is the following; who else besides Matt does work in NY and is there anyone in particular whom I should ask for to do my sessions?

Hey guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself.

About 4 years ago I started losing my hair in a silver dollar shape behind my hairline. I was 33 years old and had never suffered any kind of hair loss. I truly thought I had dodged that bullet since I figured by that age if I hadn't lost anything I'd be keeping it for the rest of my life.

That didn't quite work out. I went to a dermatologist and was diagnosed through a scalp punch biopsy with a condition called Lichen Planopilaris. It's a scarring alopecia with no known cure that causes rapid permanent hair loss. The scarring isn't on the scalp (at least with me). It happens under the scalp and destroys the hair follicle. My scalp looks normal on the surface. It's pretty rare condition but a lot more common than I thought. Women get this a lot. It's very traumatizing as the only medications they have to slow it down are steroids & immunosupressants which come with side effects like cancer.

I basically lost my hair on top of my scalp in a triangle pattern behind my hairline with the point of the triangle behind my hairline and the widest part extending to my crown. It's amazing that I still have my front hair line but that's common for this disease.

Things got so bad that I stopped going to barbers/stylists and my wife taught herself how to cut my hair. I cover the loss with a side combover. I put dermatch down on the bald spot, comb over and then sprinkle Toppik on the top. It works for me since I had the same side part/hairstyle before this happened to me. No one has noticed anything. That said, if it's raining or windy I get panic stricken leaving the house. The amount of stress this causes me is not healthy. I gained a lot of weight after the hair loss began because of the stress/depression this caused me. Before this I was probably one of the most confident well adjusted people you'd meet. I still have part of that in me but it's muted because of the hair loss.

I went to a hair system place here on the east coast that makes their own systems and sells them to your direct to check out that option. They were lovely people and very caring, but the mere idea of glueing hair or taping it down to my head just made me very sad. I had pretty much given up on options until I came across this website.

I recently had a consult with Ian & Rainbir in NYC and I'm strongly considering having the treatment done there next month. I'm at 99.99% for doing it. I'm going next month to the facility here to meet a few more folks who have had it done and ask some other questions. I think mentally I'm prepared to do this.

From what I've seen this looks like a great option for me. While I've never rocked the shaved head look in my life, I'm excited to make the change. I like the idea of headblading my head at the gym after I work out. I get so much stress in the locker room at the gym when my hair is wet and other people can see the loss. The mere idea I could walk to sink and look at myself in the mirror while I headbladed makes me smile if you can believe that. I haven't really looked at my face in the mirror for 4 years.

I can't wait to stop wearing hats and stop using concealer when an occasion presents itself that a hat isn't an option.

I was just thinking about a birthday party I went to in NYC months ago. We were at a club & I had on a very cool looking Kangol fedora and one of the guests at the party who was a little drunk kept trying to steal it off my head to try on her head. She wanted to take a picture of herself in my hat and put it on Facebook. Of course I resisted. It quickly became a game for her to try to sneak up on me and take my hat off. I got very panicked (since I didn't use concealer under the hat). My wife finally pulled her aside and told her to leave me alone and to stop it. It was really uncomfortable for me. I can't live my life being ashamed of my head anymore.

I will continue to update this thread and contribute here as I get closer to booking my procedure next month. I will also let pics be taken by HIS if they can camoflauge my face. I work in a high profile industry and I wouldn't want people to find this/see me just yet. That may change and I may want to be a spokesperson down the road. Once I have it done I want to be very active in meeting with potential clients if I'm happy with the results. Especially, with clients suffering from scarring alopecia. I know their pain and if my doing this helps one other person to get their life back, then it's all worth it.
